Early on in my ministry I developed a love for radio and saw the potential of reaching and encouraging people with the Word of God. For 24 years I produced a 15-minute radio program called “Renewal.”
However, following a wonderful opportunity to prepare the Life Essentials Study Bible, I began producing a 2-minute program called “Bible Principles.” Thankfully, this program is aired five days a week on a number of radio stations throughout the United States.
Recently, I was very encouraged when I received this note from Perry Atkinson, President of The Dove—a series of stations that airs up and down the west coast. Here’s the quote from Perry:
“In this anxious, ever-changing world in which we live, finding relevant and encouraging content is a must. The 2-minute “Bible Principles” feature is perfect in ministering hope and encouragement to our listeners. We air this feature several times throughout the day, and our audience loves them!”
The Dove radio network is only a few of the radio stations throughout the United States that airs my 2-minute daily program. Our goal is to add to this list in the future. The current station list is on our website. We would appreciate your prayers for this effort!

Broadcasting in Africa
One of the most encouraging opportunities for this Bible Principles program is happening in Africa. The Lord opened this door for this outreach when Don McLaughlin invited Ken Bates (right) to help establish radio stations in Uganda. This not only opened the door for radio ministry but also resulted in the Life Essentials Training Center where we equip pastors to use the Life Essentials Study Bible.

Kakuma FM 91.7* – Small refugee radio station in Kakuma, Kenya.
Restore FM 98.0* – Station in Kigali, Rwanda.
Sahara FM – Network of three stations in Kenya (Kisumu 94.3 FM; Webuye FM 98.3; Busia 94.2 FM)
Usalama 99.7 FM* – Adjumani, Uganda. This one is a station built to reach 1 million+ South Sudanese refugees as well as the Ugandan host community.

Spiritual leaders receive my Life Essentials Study Bible as a gift and then spend a full day learning how to use it in their ministry. They also spend another full day using The Measure of a Man to study biblical qualifications for leadership that are outlined in 1 Timothy Chapter 3 and Titus Chapter 1.
